Border Slideshow
This photo audio slideshow was made based on the words of Father Peter Neeley, activist for Kino Initiative in Nogales, Arizona. Among other activities, the organization provides direct humanitarian assistance for migrants at the border.
According to Neely, most the arrests made by Border Patrol in Nogales have more to do with drugs and alcohol than whether or not the person has proper documentation.
The Department of Homeland Security's statistics don't necessarily prove Neely correct, but he says he's witnessed U.S. citizens arrested and deported because they were involved in drug crime.
